I'm positive Melvin was dear to the hearts of many people. He made a huge difference in helping me achieve my professional goals as my chemistry professor in 1969. He was kind, cheerful, encouraging, and humble. A great teacher! I have trouble thinking of more than a half dozen people who made such a difference. Just yesterday a patient shared her similar if not greater experience about him. Tremendous person; I will never forget him!

...Had Dr. Gleiter for a Biochem class...back in the early 70's. I remember him as a wonderful teacher and more importantly as a wonderful human being. My sympathies to his family.

    Tim and Jim (and family),
Our sincere condolences on the loss of your dad. We have many fond memories of him, both as a fellow chemist and as a Peace member. Over 45 years ago, you both attended Epiphany School with our Lisa and Jeff, and we've all been friends ever since! We will pray that God will comfort you both with your happy memories and continue to bless you in the coming years. We are sorry that we will not be able to attend the funeral as we will be out of the state Saturday.

Tim and Jim, Your dad was such a gift to me. Growing up, he and your mom were highlights of our family visits to Mondovi, Modena, and Eau Claire. Later, he was a special gift to me my freshman year at UWEC. I will never forget his excitement with me when I got a 'B' in his class...no small feat for me or for him. He knew his Saviour and rejoiced in His grace and salvation. I can't wait to see Uncle Mel, Aunt Lois, and Beverly in heaven. So much joy!
